Volleyball Recap: Herron Comes Up Short

Herron lost against Guerin Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Achaeans came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 3-0. The Achaeans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14, 25-13.

Guerin Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Ducey led the charge by getting 41 assists and 11 digs. Ducey is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season. Natalie Laughon was another key player, getting 16 digs and four aces.

Herron's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Guerin Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Herron and Guerin Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Achaeans will challenge Eman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (175 vs. 431). Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic (ranked 30th) will meet Greenfield-Central (ranked 124th) at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
