Baseball Recap: Hurricane Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Hurricane duked it out with Sky View on Friday. The Hurricane Tigers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Sky View Bobcats. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won three in a row.

Brycen McCauley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Emiliano Zapata was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brendon Hoffman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hurricane now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sky View, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Hurricane didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-6 defeat against Wasatch on the 8th. As for Sky View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 17-1 loss against Union on the 8th.
