Soccer Recap: New Hope Comes Up Short

If New Hope was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of West Point last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Hope Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pontotoc Warriors on Tuesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

New Hope now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Pontotoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season.

New Hope will be playing at home against Corinth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pontotoc, they will challenge Lafayette at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Pontotoc is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
