Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Victorious

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Roosevelt and Franklin have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Roosevelt came out on top against Franklin by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For the Roughriders, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Quakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The victory got Roosevelt back to even at 2-2-1. As for Franklin, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will face off against Lakeside at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Roosevelt surely won't give up without a fight. As for Franklin, they will take on Nathan Hale at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Nathan Hale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Franklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
