Volleyball Recap: Mercer County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mercer County lost against Riverdale back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riverdale scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17.

Mercer County's offense was headlined by Tessa Morrison and Rylee Bigham, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Sarah Hofmann and her eight assists. Bigham was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Mercer County's loss dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Riverdale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season.

Mercer County is taking a road trip to square off against Sherrard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverdale, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Ashton-Franklin Center on the 18th.
