The Canterbury School Saints are taking a road trip to face off against the Hopkins Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canterbury School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Canterbury School needed a bit of extra time to put away Millbrook School. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.
Carter Heagle made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Jack Jensen tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Logan Martel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Tyler Kisling also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Hopkins came out on top against St. Luke's on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Hilltoppers blew past the Storm 8-1. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Rocco DeMaio III, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Tommy O'Connell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Hopkins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Luke's only managed four hits.
Canterbury School pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Hopkins, they moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
