Basketball Game Preview: Norwalk Warriors vs. Pella Dutch

Norwalk and Pella are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Norwalk Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Pella Dutch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Norwalk lost to Ames at home by a 57-39 margin. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Little Cyclones are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Pella was able to grind out a solid victory over Des Moines Christian on Tuesday, taking the game 74-64.

Pella is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Norwalk, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Norwalk didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pella in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norwalk since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
