Basketball Recap: Prestonwood Christian North Takes a Loss

After flying high against Garland Christian Academy last Friday, Prestonwood Christian North came back down to earth. Prestonwood Christian North were outmatched by the First Baptist Saints and fell 63-35. While losing is never fun, Prestonwood Christian North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1026th, while First Baptist is ranked 380th).

First Baptist had a senior duo take command as Georgia Alford almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds and Meredith Quinn went 10 for 14 en route to 22 points and five boards. Quinn has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Vowell, who posted nine points and three steals.

Prestonwood Christian North now has a losing record at 11-12. As for First Baptist, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prestonwood Christian North will challenge Ovilla Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for First Baptist, they will square off against Alcuin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
