Basketball Game Preview: Quantico Warriors vs. Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets

Having just played yesterday, the Quantico Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Quantico is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Quantico was beaten by Tandem Friends 61-28.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Randolph-Macon Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Veritas School with a sharp 55-32 win on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Randolph-Macon Academy's win came from a few key players Quantico will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noah Negussie, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points and seven boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of David Kayeye, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Randolph-Macon Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Veritas School only racked up four assists.

Randolph-Macon Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Quantico, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Quantico was taken down by Randolph-Macon Academy 77-27 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Quantico avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
