Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Essex Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the North Reading Hornets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered against the Hornets since October 24, 2016.

While Essex Tech was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into North Reading's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18, 27-25.

Lavinya Olivera paced Essex Tech's offense, picking up nine kills. Olivera got some help from Sadie Souza and her ten assists. Olivera was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Emery Cordero was a one-woman wrecking crew For North Reading. as she had 13 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Cordero a new career-high.

Essex Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Reading, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

As for North Reading, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Pentucket Regional on the 12th.
