Baseball Recap: Whiteland Find Success

Whiteland was handed an 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins 5-3. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Colton Shipp made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Whiteland is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-5 otherwise. Shipp was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Paul, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Whiteland's record now sits at 4-6. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whiteland will welcome New Palestine at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they will be playing at home against Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
