Softball Recap: Sayre Sabres vs. Sullivan County Griffins
Sayre's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Sullivan County Griffins. This was a revenge game for the Sabres: when they faced off against the Griffins back in April, they had to take a 16-5 defeat.
Raegan Parrish made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Parrish was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Abbie McGaughey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rylee Lantz, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Sayre kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan County only managed five hits.
