Soccer Game Preview: Purcell Marian vs. Clark Montessori

Purcell Marian is 0-3 against Clark Montessori since September of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Purcell Marian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Purcell Marian lost 5-1 to Cincinnati Christian on Tuesday. Purcell Marian were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Tylee Littlejohn, who's now up to 29 this season.

Meanwhile, Clark Montessori kept a clean sheet against Western Hills on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering Clark Montessori have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Clark Montessori's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three matches. As for Purcell Marian, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5-1.

Purcell Marian came up short against Clark Montessori when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
