Baseball Recap: West Field Wins Going Away Against Green Canyon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woods Cross, West Field was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Green Canyon Wolves with a sharp 11-3 win.

Bryce Bagby looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kason Taylor and Grady Garrett did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Garrett scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Taylor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samuel Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

West Field now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Green Canyon, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

West Field will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
