Recap: West Shore Wildcats vs. St. Edward's Pirates
On Friday, West Shore lost to St. Edward at home by a decisive 56-37 margin.
Dhanika Perez had a dynamite game for St. Edward's, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Perez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Collazo, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
West Shore has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for St. Edward's, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
West Shore will face off against Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cocoa Beach is coming into the contest with three straight losses on the road, so West Shore is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for St. Edward's, they will square off against Morningside Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morningside Academy's defense has only allowed 28.2 points per game this season, so St. Edward's offense will have their work cut out for them.
