Recap: Pine-Richland Rams vs. Taylor Allderdice Dragons
The Pine-Richland Rams pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor Allderdice. While losing is never fun, Pine-Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Taylor Allderdice is ranked 19th).
Logan Golle was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight assists and six rebounds for Taylor Allderdice. That's the first time this season that Golle posted eight or more assists. Major Rainey was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Pine-Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Taylor Allderdice, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Taylor Allderdice will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Fox Chapel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
