Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hope Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 38-31 to the Union County Fightin' Tigers.

Despite the loss, Hope Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Addyson Wilson, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points. That was a full 58.1% of Hope Christian Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Union County found their leader in freshman Gabrielle Moore, who went 8 for 15 en route to 16 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Iamorieah Williams, who earned nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Hope Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Union County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-12.

Hope Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-15 victory against Gainesville Christian Community on the 20th. As for Union County, they will welcome Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
