Basketball Recap: Manila Takes a Loss

Manila lost against East Poinsett County back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Manila Lions fell 53-44 to the East Poinsett County Warriors. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacob Gaines continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Poinsett County, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The contest was Gaines' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Eli Blagg was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Manila's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for East Poinsett County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Manila will take on Paragould at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Poinsett County, they will face off against Earle at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
