Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lely

Lely barely beat Everglades City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 17-1 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lely got a massive performance out of Mary Dalag, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Dalag also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Sophia Moriarty was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lely was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Everglades City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Coming up, Lely will take on Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Everglades City, they will square off against Seacrest Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
