Softball Recap: Person Comes Up Short

Person was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the Southern Alamance Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 back in March.

Emma Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI. Makayla Walker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Person's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Southern Alamance, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Person will head out on the road to take on Roxboro Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern Alamance, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cummings at 5:00 p.m. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.14 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
