Basketball Recap: Natalie Rodriguez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Grants

Highland was handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Grants Pirates 54-51. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Highland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Rodriguez, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Rodriguez a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Breanna Payton, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Highland now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Grants, they dropped their record down to 10-17 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Highland has already played their next match, a 51-35 defeat against Valencia on the 27th. Grants does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
