The Hunterdon Central Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Randolph Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Ridge hit Hunterdon Central with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils fell 9-5 to the Red Devil. The Red Devils' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mason Matis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Danny Contiliano was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Ganguzza, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Randolph came up short against Cranford on Thursday, falling 13-4.
Randolph saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Swanick, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Chase Lorent also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Randolph now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Hunterdon Central, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.
Hunterdon Central suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Randolph in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
