Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Takes a Loss

Wiregrass Ranch fell victim to River Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royal Knights. The Bulls' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Wiregrass Ranch had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Chris Hong and Dillion Singleton Hong pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Singleton tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Singleton a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Wiregrass Ranch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pedro Castro, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Wiregrass Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for River Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13.

The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulls' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for River Ridge, they will take on Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
