Basketball Recap: Terra Verde Discovery Piles Up the Points Against Hoops for Christ

There's no place like home for Terra Verde Discovery, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 65-8 victory over the Hoops for Christ Warriors. With the Owls ahead 39-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Terra Verde Discovery's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kristian Payne, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 12 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of James Gituma, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points and three steals.

The win got Terra Verde Discovery back to even at 1-1. As for Hoops for Christ, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Terra Verde Discovery will challenge The New School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoops for Christ does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
