Baseball Game Preview: St. Margaret's Tartans vs. Laguna Beach Breakers

For the second straight game, St. Margaret will face off against Laguna Beach. The Tartans will take on the Breakers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Margaret's has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 20.

St. Margaret's fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Laguna Beach on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 4-1 to the Breakers.

For Laguna Beach's part, Branson Wade spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Wade has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Yencho, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Laguna Beach and bumps their season record up to 15-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
