The La Joya Coyotes will take on the Palmview Lobos at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. La Joya is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, La Joya beat Hanna 5-2. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Isaac Sayavedra, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Samuel De Leon was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Sayavedra wasn't the only one working in the hit department: La Joya kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for La Joya: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.8.

Meanwhile, Palmview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Rattlers 9-2. Considering the Lobos have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Palmview's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Javier Garza, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI. Another was Adrian Garza, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Palmview pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for La Joya, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

La Joya might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Palmview in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can La Joya avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
