Volleyball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale lost against Southwestern back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chieftains fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their offense was headlined by Lily Barr and Riley Kinney, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Abby Tisdale and her nine assists.

Southwestern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Lewerke out in front who had 18 digs and one block.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Southwestern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Riverdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Pecatonica on the 7th. As for Southwestern, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Iowa-Grant on the 7th.
