Baseball Recap: River Rouge Comes Up Short

River Rouge couldn't beat Henry Ford Academy on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Panthers came up short against the Navigators, falling 17-9. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Navigators this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-4 loss last Wednesday.

River Rouge has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Henry Ford Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9-1.

Coming up, River Rouge will be playing at home against University Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. University Prep has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.58 runs per game on average), something River Rouge will no doubt try to take advantage of. Henry Ford Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Henry Ford Academy again at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
