Basketball Game Preview: South Caldwell Spartans vs. Northeast Guilford Rams

The South Caldwell Spartans will square off against the Northeast Guilford Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Caldwell's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Northeast Guilford's offense will have their work cut out for them.

South Caldwell is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against East Burke on Tuesday. The Spartans were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Cavaliers. The loss was the Spartans' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, South Caldwell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maggie Wilks posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Holland Weisner, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Northeast Guilford had to suffer through a 57-5 loss at the hands of Jackson Day. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Caldwell fell to 3-1. As for Northeast Guilford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
