Football Recap: Ethan Kaiser and Cache Garcia Pace Rifle Defense + How To Watch

Rifle extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-9. They fell 14-3 to the Eagle Valley Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 21-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Rifle didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ethan Kaiser and Cache Garcia.

As for Eagle Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 33.7 points this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eagle Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Leeper, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Malachi Barros was another key pass catcher, picking up 79 receiving yards and one TD.

Rifle will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Steamboat Springs at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. As for Eagle Valley, they have already played their next game, a 28-10 loss against Palisade on the 31st.
