Alta and Timpview are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks face off against the Thunderbirds at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Alta is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Viewmont 51-48.

Meanwhile, Timpview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-31 win over the Cougars. The Thunderbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Alta's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Timpview, their win bumped their record up to 19-5.

Alta was able to grind out a solid victory over Timpview when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 72-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Timpview's Dean Rueckert, who to rack up 25 points.
