Baseball Recap: Des Moines North Comes Up Short

Des Moines North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Winterset Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Thursday.

Des Moines North's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Winterset, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Des Moines North will be playing at home against Des Moines East at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Scarlets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Polar Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Winterset, they have already played their next contest, an 11-7 loss against Van Meter on the 30th.
