Baseball Recap: Loretto Has No Trouble Against Mt. Pleasant

Loretto owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They blew past the Mt. Pleasant Tigers 6-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on Tuesday.

Not much got past Casen Springer, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Mt. Pleasant off the board. Springer also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Loretto is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-14 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grayson Burleson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Loretto is undefeated when Burleson posts one or more home runs, but 6-14 otherwise. Micah Ridgeway was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

The victory made it two in a row for Loretto and bumps their season record up to 10-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Coming up, Loretto will challenge Richland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will face off against Hickman County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
