Basketball Game Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders vs. Grandview Prep Pride

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will take on the Grandview Prep Pride in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Aquinas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.

St. Thomas Aquinas is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Montverde Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 78-38. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from London Thomas, who posted 12 points. Nyla Mcfadden was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grandview Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 win over Somerset Academy - Canyons on Tuesday. While the Pride didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Grandview Prep pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
