Volleyball Recap: Union Pines Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Union Pines hadn't done well against Pinecrest recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Union Pines wouldn't go down easily and took Pinecrest into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 15-7.

Union Pines' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pinecrest, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Pines will challenge West Johnston at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pinecrest, they will head out to challenge Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
