Volleyball Game Preview: Somerset Academy Losee Lions vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

Somerset Academy Losee is 1-6 against Moapa Valley since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Lions will host the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Somerset Academy Losee is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Valley, who was ranked 16th at the time (Somerset Academy Losee was ranked 23rd). The Lions lost 3-0 to the Vikings on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since March 12th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Moapa Valley came up short against Eldorado on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Firehawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

This is the second loss in a row for Somerset Academy Losee and nudges their season record down to 12-11. As for Moapa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Somerset Academy Losee skirted past Moapa Valley 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Pirates' Spencer Stolworthy, who had 42 assists and 12 digs.
