After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pinnacle, Apollo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 53-27 margin over the Boulder Creek Jaguars. The Hawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Apollo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meekah Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Nunez has been hot, having also posted four or more blocks the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Serenity Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Apollo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Apollo's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Boulder Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Apollo and Boulder Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Apollo (ranked 164th) will meet Valley Vista (ranked third) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Boulder Creek (ranked 194th) will meet O'Connor (ranked 37th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
