White Pine waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Laughlin Cougars an 11-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Friday.

Gianna Sedlacek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cecilia Barbosa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Presley Skadburg, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

White Pine hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

White Pine's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Laughlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

White Pine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laughlin, they will face off against GV Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
