Basketball Game Preview: Travelers Rest Devildogs vs. Daniel Lions

The Travelers Rest Devildogs will venture away from home to square off against the Daniel Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Travelers Rest is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Travelers Rest will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Greer, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Travelers Rest came out on top against Greer by a score of 42-31 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Daniel). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Berea 76-24. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Daniel's win came from a few key players Travelers Rest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lila Mann, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Epting, who made all 6 shots she took to post 16 points and three steals.

Travelers Rest is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points per game. As for Daniel, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Travelers Rest might still be hurting after the 45-22 loss they got from Daniel when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Travelers Rest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
