Basketball Recap: Hunter-Tannersville Takes a Loss

Hunter-Tannersville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Central Purple Devils on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 41-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Franklin Central found their leader in sophomore Shannon Kingsbury, who went 12 for 28 on her way to 31 points and four steals. Kingsbury has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 34 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zaeda Beadle, who posted seven points and 16 boards.

Hunter-Tannersville's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Franklin Central, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sharon Springs Central the next time they take the court. Hunter-Tannersville will host Sharon Springs Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Franklin Central will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
