Football Recap: Marshall Rams vs. O'Connor Panthers
Marshall was the 42-38 winner over O'Connor when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Marshall Rams fell 31-24 to the O'Connor Panthers on Saturday. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
A big part of O'Connor's win came down to the chemistry between Jake Garza and his top target Chris Esparza. Garza threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes while Esparza picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for O'Connor, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Holmes the next time they take the field. O'Connor will head out to face Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Marshall will host them at 2:00 p.m. on November 2nd.
