Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest lost against South Gallia last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Northwest Mohawks took a 39-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Gallia Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Rebels are ranked 283rd).

Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for South Gallia, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Northwest has already played their next match (against Symmes Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Gallia is taking a road trip to take on Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
