Basketball Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

Wilton was the 59-47 winner over Greenwich when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wilton Warriors took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwich Cardinals on Friday. The Warriors were up 42-28 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Wilton still got an impressive performance from Ryan Luchetta, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The matchup was Luchetta's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Totten, who posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Wilton's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Greenwich, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-6.

Wilton has already played their next contest, a 69-61 loss against Wilbur Cross on the 11th. Greenwich has also already played their next game (against Bridgeport Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
