Soccer Recap: White Oak Falls Short of Jacksonville in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact White Oak can now relate to. They lost 8-1 to the Jacksonville Cardinals on Thursday. While losing is never fun, White Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Jacksonville are ranked 58th).

White Oak's goal came courtesy of Josiah Mattocks, who's now up to 11 this season.

White Oak dropped their record down to 8-12-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Jacksonville, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4-2.

White Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jacksonville, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Northern Nash on the 10th.
