Baseball Recap: Serra Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

St. Paul typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Serra proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Swordsmen. Surprisingly, this marked the Cavaliers' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

CJ HUGHES was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. MARC EMMERMAN was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Serra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Paul only managed five hits.

Serra has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.

Coming up, Serra will head out to face off against Chavez at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Paul, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 win against South Gate on the 1st.
