Volleyball Game Preview: Richlands Wildcats vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils

Richlands hasn't had much luck against South Lenoir recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Richlands can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to East Duplin.

Meanwhile, South Lenoir unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Rosewood on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

While South Lenoir ultimately came up short, they really made Rosewood work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 25-16.

Richlands couldn't quite get it done against South Lenoir when the teams last played back in August of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
