Baseball Recap: Hesperia Christian Gets the Win

Hesperia Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Academy of Careers & Exploration, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagle with a sharp 17-1 victory on Thursday. The game was the first time the Patriots have beaten the Eagle on their field since March 9, 2023.

Austin Koester and Chase Hampton were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Koester kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hampton pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Koester went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Hampton went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Luke Coogan was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
