Softball Recap: CORE Butte Comes Up Short

CORE Butte had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-16 to make it six. They fell just short of the Princeton Eagles by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-10 on Tuesday.

As for Princeton, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games.

For Princeton's part, Jada Dillard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Coming up, CORE Butte will welcome Redding Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lynx are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to square off against Chester at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
