Softball Recap: New Albany Eagles vs. Olentangy Braves
New Albany easily dispatched Newark on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of the Olentangy Braves by a score of 12-10 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.
Izzy White made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. Bella Dues was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
New Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Olentangy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
New Albany will welcome Dublin Jerome at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Olentangy, they will head out to face off against Lancaster at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Gales will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight.
