Football Game Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Oviedo Lions will square off against the Hagerty Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oviedo's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They took down Lyman 18-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oviedo's defense and their four sacks. In that department, KIARA HERNANDEZ was the leader with three. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Hagerty's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 13-0 win over University.

Hagerty didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Katherine Smith, Gabriella Cervantes, and Courtney Dusart picked up one apiece. Nykila Cotto was another major factor on D, picking up four sacks, making nine total tackles, and defending one pass.

Hagerty now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oviedo, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Oviedo took their win against Hagerty when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0. Will Oviedo repeat their success, or does Hagerty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
